CALL
FOR PAPERS
IEEE Semiannual Vehicular Technology
Conference
VTC-2003
(Fall)
October 4-9, 2003, Hyatt
Orlando Hotel, Orlando, Florida, USA
Symposium on Broadband
Mobile Satellite Networks
Deadline
for paper submissions: March 24, 2003
Symposium Chair: Prof.
Abbas Jamalipour, University of Sydney, Australia (a.jamalipour@ieee.org)
The objective of this symposium is to
provide a forum for researchers and technologists to present new ideas
and contributions in the area of mobile satellite communications within
the topics of interest of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2003-Fall).
This symposium also intends to bring together various satellite network
systems developers to discuss the current status, technical challenges,
standards, fundamental issue, and future services and applications. Satellite
will have a major role in providing a global interconnectivity for the
next generation wireless mobile networks where the IP and high-speed broadband
applications are the dominant services.
The topics of interest include but are
not limited to the following:
-
Emerging Mobile Satellite Systems
-
Satellite Network Architectures (GEO, LEO,
MEO)
-
Inter-Satellite Links
-
Home and Small Office Internet Access via
Satellite
-
Services and Applications
-
Multiple Access
-
Media Access Control Protocols
-
Traffic Management
-
Traffic Characterization on Modeling
-
Quality of Service (QoS) models
-

VTC2003-Fall and select the “Broadband Mobile Satellite Networks”
Symposium as their target symposium. Specifically, authors must submit
a short abstract submission (approximately 150 words in the EDAS web site
form) and an extended abstract (up to 2 pages) also submitted through the
EDAS web site. The extended abstracts are soft copy in MS Word or PDF file
formats. The submission must include the name, complete mailing address,
telephone and fax numbers, and the email address of the author(s). Extended
abstracts should be submitted electronically (MS Word or PDF) by March
24, 2003. Please see the VTC2003-Fall web site at http://vtc2003.com/
