Biography

Gregor Verbič received the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1995, 2000, and 2003, respectively. In 2005, he was a North Atlantic Treaty Organization– Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Postdoctoral Fellow with the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada. Since 2010, he has been with the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, University of Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia. His expertise is in power system operation, stability and control, and electricity markets. His current research interests include integration of renewable energies into power systems and markets, optimization and control of distributed energy resources, demand response, and energy management in residential buildings. He was a recipient of the IEEE Power and Energy Society Prize Paper Award in 2006. He is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid.
