Emoticons are often used in electronic mail messages to indicate emotions. Since the reader of your mail message can't see your facial expressions or body language, it is easy have your message misunderstood.
The most common emoticon is the Smiley Face:
:-)
To see the smiley face, tilt your head 90 degrees to
the left. The colon ":" becomes the eyes,
the dash "-" becomes, and the right
parenthesis ")" becomes the mouth. Some
other examples are the Sad Face:
:-(
and the Wink:
;-)
Many more emoticions are available, however, these three are by far the most common. You may wish to include them when you need to show a facial expression or emotion in an electronic mail message.
