In-Line Images

The general format for specifying an image in an HTML document is:

<IMG SRC="image-url" ALIGN=alignment ALT="alt">

Note that the SRC (source) attribute is required, but the ALIGN (alignment) and ALT (alternate) attributes are optional.

The SRC attribute specifies the URL (or partial URL) of the image you wish displayed, for example:

<IMG SRC="ausflag.gif">

Displays this in-line image:

[Sorry, your browser doesn't support in-line images]

Note: If the image you want to display is located in the same directory as the HTML source file, simply including the name of the image file in the SRC attribute will work.

What does the ALIGN attribute do?
