One of the most powerful aspects of HTML is the ability to create links to other documents from within the current document. A link is created using an tag called an Anchor. This tag uses the format:

<A HREF="url">description</A>


An Absolute URL is one which defines the full URL specification, including the server type, host name, and full path name.

A Relative URL specifies only that portion of the URL which is required to reference the resource (usually a partial path name).
