Electronic Mail Security

Question:

TRUE or FALSE: Electronic mail is a secure means of communication?

Answer:

FALSE: Many people believe that electronic mail is a secure means of communication, however, this is not the case. Although several more secure methods of sending electronic mail have been developed, at present, most electronic mail systems are not considered secure. You should be aware that e-mail is not secure. You may have heard of cases where mobile phone calls have been intercepted with embarrassing results for the callers.
E-mail is less secure than a mobile phone call. It may be intercepted and read at any point in its path from sender to receiver.

As a rule of thumb don't put anything in an e-mail message that you would not be happy to have made public.
