The School of Electrical and Information Engineering offers five Bachelor

The degrees above can be combined with various other degrees - the Bachelor
of Commerce, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Medical Science, Bachelor of
Arts or the Bachelor of Laws. All combined degrees are of 5 years duration
except for the Bachelor of Engineering with Bachelor of Laws which is 6 years.

Elecronic Commerce is shown here only for the reference to the students who are already in this degree. This degree was taken off our books in 2007, i.e. no new students can enrol in this degree. If you wish to complete the BE and BSc over 5 years, there is an alternative to the combined degree.
All units of study (subjects) at the University of Sydney have a credit point
value. The normal year's enrolment consists of 48 credit points (24 per semester).
The requirements for the degree programs here are expressed in terms of core
(mandatory) units, recommended units and (free) electives.
To satisfy a 4 year degree, you must:
- Satisfy requirements on core units of study,
- Complete a specified total of credit points from core plus recommended
units, and
- Complete a total of at least 192 credit points.
To satisfy a combined degree, you must:
- Satisfy requirements on core units of study,
- Complete a specified total of credit points from core plus recommended
units,
- Satisfy any specific requirements of the second faculty, and
- Complete a total of at least 240 credit points for a 5 year combined degree
program and 288 credit points for the combined degree with the Bachelor of
Laws.

It is not possible to transfer from a 4 year degree program to a combinded
degree program without going via UAC. The reverse is possible with all combined
degrees.
It is possible for students entering 2nd or 3rd year to transfer from the Electrical
Engineering degree (or a combined degree program including this degree) to one
of the other (specialist) degrees, subject tp performance
To transfer at the beginning of 2nd year, a candidate must
- have completed all 1st year units of study at the first attempt, and
- have performed at an average Credit level or better.
To transfer at the beginning of 3rd year, a candidate must
- have completed all 1st and 2nd units of study at the first attempt,
- have performed in 2nd year at an average Credit level or better, and
