An important message regarding student consultations:
- My teaching consultation hour is Tuesday 10am-11am in my office (EFB Rm 103). Due to the extent of my commitments this year, I will only be available to answer teaching-related enquiries during this time. Please email beforehand to confirm your appointment.
- My blog is now back online. (Note: This is not a university-administered site. Opinions expressed do not represent the position of my employer.)
- I will be presenting on Web Service Security at the ARK Group conference on Planning and Implementing Service Oriented Architecture. 15-17 March, Sydney. Jim Webber will be chairing the conference. Yay!
- I will be presenting on open-source Java development at EduLinux 2005 (a Linux.conf.au mini-conference). April 18-23, Canberra.
- Now teaching EBUS4001 E-Business Engineering (Sem 1, 2005).
My research is mainly in the area of middleware systems and software
infrastructures. I am particularly interested in the following research
areas:
- Distributed systems and distributed computing
- Web services and related middleware systems
- Fault-Tolerant and Highly Available software systems
- Dynamic and reconfigurable software systems
- Mechanisms for adaptation and evolution in middleware systems
- Service-Oriented Architectures
My PhD research focus is improving the support for adaptation and
dependability behaviours within web service middleware systems. More
specific information will be made available here when the first release
of my prototype software implementation (now underway) is made.
I am also interested in web services and system security and
interoperability, as well as general issues in software architecture
and
software engineering. I am always happy to discuss general research
questions in person, by telephone or by email (perhaps best). I am
active in several research groups including:
